This 1 day course is suitable for organisations where there must be an "Appointed Person" to satisfy the needs of the Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981. It is also suitable for people who wish to gain an understanding of First Aid emergency procedures. There is no exam and a certificate of attendance will be awarded.
Course Content
Upon successful completion of the course, participants will be confident in recognising and dealing effectively with:
- Update and maintenance of a first aid box
- Resuscitation skills
- Treatment of unconscious casualties and recovery position
- Heart attack - CPR and life support
- Choking and airway management
- Shock Communication and delegation in an emergency
- Control of bleeding
A general overview of the following topics is also given:
- Allergic reaction
- Burns and scalds
- Injuries to bones, muscle and joints
